AFOL ankety
« : 07. Apríl 2013, 20:54:01 »
Z TLG poslali anketu o tom, ako fandite. Vybral som nam blizke jazyky. Ak to chcete niekto vyplnit v azijskych, dajte vediet. O vysledky sa s nami potom podelia. Ankety vychadzaju ako stvrtrocnik.

A tu je sumar ako anketa dopadla (je to v anglictine, ak bude zaujem tak mozem neskor ked bude cas vybrat zaujimavosti)

Dear LEGO Fan community,

In April 2013, we ran an installation of our quarterly LEGO Fan Survey, and we would
like to share the results with you.

Over 5,000 LEGO fans over the age of 13 participated from Afghanistan to Venezuela
and nearly everywhere in between. This time, we provided the survey in multiple
languages instead of just in English, and the overall base of responses grew as did
participation from Asia (18% in this survey compared with 5% in the first quarter of
2012) and Central Europe (15% in this survey compared with 9% in the first quarter
of 2012). Teens (13-18) represented 13% of survey takers, and the largest two groups
of adult fans participating included those from 25-34 and 35-44. This time, women
represented less than 8% of survey takers – women skew older than men and are more
likely to be from North America, to talk to a LEGO employee, or to post photos or
videos of their MOCs online than men.

From the survey, we’ve learned that there are strong regional differences. First,
there are differences in how you perceive the value you get for the LEGO products
you’ve purchased compared with the price you paid – Eastern Europeans and North
Americans received the highest value; Australians, New Zealanders, and Western
Europeans, the lowest. Also, Americans are spending the most on LEGO products, both
for themselves and others.

In general, fans outside of Northern, Central, and Southern Europe don’t feel
they’ve had good opportunities to participate in events with other LEGO fans, fans
in Eastern and Western Europe especially feel this way. Fans in Central Europe, it
seems, have found their LEGO hobby more inspiring than usual over the past three
months than fans in all other regions.

Despite the differences, there are some similarities as well: fans across the globe
feel that the LEGO fan community is strong, and they are recognized for their
knowledge of LEGO products by fans and non-fans alike. Participation in the fan
community, by commenting about LEGO ‘stuff’ online or having conversations about
LEGO in person, is universally high, though strongest in Northern Europe. Posting
photos or videos of MOCs is done by just over a third of fans but by more than half
in Southern Europe. Similarly, attending a LUG gathering is an activity only a
quarter of fans have done in the past three months, but 42% in Southern Europe
have.

Finally, we learned that familiarity with the LEGO Community Engagement and Events
team could be higher. Fans that are aware of our team seem to have a more positive
perception of the value of LEGO products and participate more in events than fans
who are unfamiliar. We anticipate that the many activities we have with newer LUGs
will help drive up knowledge of our team.

Thank you to those of you who participated in the survey for allowing us the
opportunity to improve. We look forward to your responses in the next survey and to
your continued engagement and participation in the community.

With kind regards,

Yun Mi Antorini, Community Strategist
on behalf of the CEE team

Prekvapil ma relativne nizky pocet ludi zapojenych do aknety - iba cez 5000. Sa mi zda malo na celosvetove meritka. Kazdopadne rad im zase odpoviem v nasledujucej ankete.
Trochu by ma zsaujimali aj nejake cisla napriec regionmy co sa tyka investovania penazi do lega. Ja som si pozrel vo svojom zozname posledne priemerne cisla a podla toho tam uviedol tak by ma zaujimalo kto kolko celosvetovo dava na lego - ci davame vela a ci malo, my z vychodnej Europy :)

My niesme nahodou Central Europe?

Mna prekvapila ta statistika ziskanej hodnoty za investovane peniaze, kde v severnej amerike a vychodnej europe si ludia myslia, ze dostanu najviac za peniaze co do toho daju. To maju v rusku take dobre platy alebo je tam lego take lacne?

Dear all, I am very sorry but I need to tell you (if you not have found out by now)
that we needed to close the survey due to technical issues. So please delete the
links and the information you shared with your members immediately so there is no
confusion.

A new survey will come in the next month.

I deeply apologize for all the inconvenience this might have caused for you and hope
you are still willing to participate in the next survey.

Vysledky:

Dear LEGO® fan community,

In March 2014, the LEGO Community Engagement and Events team reached out to the AFOL
community to get a pulse of the community, a regular quarterly activity. Due to an increased
emphasis on reaching fans in their native languages, the survey program expanded this quarter to
include Dutch, Hungarian, and Polish, in addition to Chinese, Korean, English, French, German,
Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, and Russian. A total of 5073 AFOL and 633 TFOL (Teen Fans of LEGO)
completed the survey. Nearly a quarter (23%) hailed from North America, and the next largest
group were from Asia (21%). Western and Eastern Europe held the next largest segments of
respondents. Consistent with past surveys, about 10% of respondents were women. The bulk of
respondents are between the ages of 25-44, and more than half have been involved with the LEGO
hobby for three years or less.

AFOL and TFOL are quite engaged in the LEGO Hobby. Though half build as a mainly solitary
exercise, two in five AFOL participate in both a social and solitary way. The most popular activities:
speaking with other fans they know personally and commenting or talking about LEGO ‘stuff’
online. Sharing MOCs, attending LUG gatherings, and attending larger fan events have fewer
participants. In fact, half of AFOL respondents belong to a LUG, and LUG membership among AFOL
respondents from different regions varies greatly.

Finally, familiarity of LEGO Community Engagement and Events run programs varies as well. The
most well-known program among AFOL and TFOL is LEGO CUUSOO, the online site where fans can
propose product ideas that get considered by The LEGO Group. Less well-known are the LUG
Support program, Rebrick.com, the Event Support Program, and LCBP (the LEGO Community
Building Program).

With kind regards,

Vysledky poslednej ankety:

AFOL Survey – Q2 2014 Summary

Dear LEGO® fan community,

We surveyed over 4500 AFOL and over 500 TFOL in May 2014 as part of an ongoing initiative to
better understand the Adult Fan of LEGO community motivations and activities. Nearly a quarter
of AFOL respondents hailed from Asia and an additional quarter from North America. Other
regions that represented just under 10% of the respondent base included Western Europe,
Eastern Europe, Central Europe, and Southern Europe. More than half of the AFOL respondents
have been engaged with the community for three years or less, and the bulk were between 25-44
years old.

AFOL who are likely to recommend the product cite aspects of creativity and use of LEGO products
by all ages. Those who are much less likely to recommend cite price as a major reason.

Though about half of AFOL are mainly solitary builders, there are differences between various
regions. The most solitary builders are in Eastern Europe, Western Europe, and Australia/New
Zealand; the most social, in Central/South America, Asia, Central Europe, and Southern Europe. In
Eastern, Western, and Southern Europe, and in Asia, participation in various types of activities is
lower. And, frequency of building is lowest in Eastern Europe, Western Europe, and Asia. Just over
half of AFOL respondents belong to a LUG, though Western and Eastern Europe have the lowest
LUG participation. AFOL in Western Europe and in Asia say they don’t belong to a LUG primarily
because they are not aware of any; however, AFOL in all other regions who are not members say
they don’t have time.
